Smart Mobility

Electric, shared, multimodal — and held together by data that has to be right the first time.
Smart Mobility

Electric mobility, new forms of public transport, ride and car sharing: the way we organise our ubiquitous wish to be mobile — and the transport of our goods — is changing rapidly. Smart mobility today is highly data-driven and no longer just optimises the direct cost of movement. It also works hard to minimise the negative consequences of transport for our climate and our environment, while still achieving the best possible customer experience.

We help our customers to build next-generation mobility solutions on top of open standards, and we provide implementations tuned for performance and low maintenance cost.

Charging infrastructure that actually interoperates

A driver plugs in a cable and expects a charging session. Behind that cable sit a charging station, an operator backend, one or two roaming hubs, an e-mobility provider, a billing system and a calibration authority — each speaking a different protocol, each with its own idea of what a "session" is. Our World Wide Charging Protocol suite models the domain once and translates it into OCPP, OCPI, OICP, OCHP, eMIP and ISO/IEC 15118 as needed.

Charging station management

A complete OCPP Charging Station Management System, plus a virtual charging station so you can test your backend long before the hardware arrives on site.

Roaming without surprises

OCPI, OICP, OCHP and eMIP connectivity, including the tooling to inspect what really went over the wire when two platforms disagree about a CDR.

Calibration law and transparency

Digitally signed metering values and Chargy, our open transparency software for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android — so drivers can verify their own bills instead of trusting a PDF.

Ad-hoc charging under AFIR

Dynamic QR codes and ad-hoc payment flows, implemented against the regulation rather than against a single vendor's interpretation of it.

Plug & Charge and bidirectional charging

ISO/IEC 15118 including certificate handling and the corresponding conformance test environment — because Plug & Charge is mostly a PKI problem wearing a cable.

Grid-friendly charging

Load management down to the individual EVSE and connectivity to home energy management via EEBUS: heat pump, PV inverter, wallbox and grid operator in one conversation.

Beyond the plug

Mobility does not stop at the charging station. Timetables and real-time data of public transport (GTFS and friends), sharing fleets, park & ride capacities and municipal traffic data belong in the same picture — which is exactly what a graph-based data model is good at. Smart Mobility
